This in-person Academic Research Seminar will explore the following: judgment-based entrepreneurship, political disruptions, government policies, and entrepreneurship with regard to development.

This event will have a keynote address by Prof. Peter Klein (Baylor University) on judgment-based entrepreneurship and three panels related to the topic:

(1) Political Disruptions: Prof. Daniel Bennett (University of Louisville), Prof. Elizabeth Moore (Northeastern University), Prof. Richard A. Hunt (Virginia Tech)

(2) Government Policies: Prof. David Lucas (Syracuse University), Prof. Douglas Cumming (Florida Atlantic University), Prof. Sofia Johan (Florida Atlantic University)

(3) Development and Entrepreneurship: Dr. Zachary Rodriguez (Syracuse University), Prof. Nabamita Dutta (University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse), Prof. Hien Tran (University of Ottawa)

Following the panels, there will be a breakout session where audience members will have the chance to discuss with speakers and fellow participants their own ideas and questions about the topic. One aim of the event is for participants to come away with fresh ideas for academic research or publicly facing work such as op-eds and popular journal articles, so please come ready to discuss your own thoughts at the breakouts.

If you have research interests in questions surrounding this topic, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity. If invited, you will have the chance to explore challenges facing entrepreneurial decision making in light of risk and uncertainty.
