Are you planning a sabbatical to focus on your research? The Institute for Humane Studies offers $50,000 Sabbatical Research Fellowships to faculty advancing their career and scholarship in the social sciences and humanities. IHS welcomes applications from junior faculty interacting with classical liberal ideas and senior scholars advancing research on topics related to the IHS Discourse Initiative.
The Sabbatical Research Fellowship is available to permanent full-time faculty at four-year degree-granting institutions whose research projects connect to the classical liberal tradition. Applications for IHS Sabbatical Research Fellowships are reviewed biannually, and the fellowships are awarded for one semester.
Past recipients of the award include Dr. Liya Palagashvili, assistant professor of economics at State University of New York-Purchase; Dr. Kevin Vallier, associate professor of philosophy at Bowling Green State University; Dr. Bruce Caldwell, research professor of economics at Duke University; and Dr. Christina Bambrick, assistant professor of political science at Clemson University.
You can learn more about this funding opportunity on the Sabbatical Research Fellowship webpage.
These awards are made possible through the generous support of the T. W. Smith Foundation.
