Student Senate at Capital University Endorses Chicago Statement

Students at Capital University in Columbus, OH have successfully passed a resolution endorsing the Chicago Statement on Free Expression. The resolution was proposed by two student senators, who are also involved in the school’s Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) student group, and was passed with the unanimous consent of the Student Senate. The YAL student chapter has also partnered with the school’s debate team to hold a panel on free speech in an effort to push for broader adoption of the policy at the school. If passed, Capital University would become the 18th institution to affirm or adopt the Chicago Statement and would join institutions such as Princeton, Purdue, Louisiana State, and Columbia University.
