Present your research online and get feedback from faculty at the second annual IHS Graduate Conference.
The conference offers a constructive and open forum of colleagues and friends. Faculty mentors will also share their in-progress work, along with hard-won advice on getting published.
The program is free to attend online. IHS offers a $100 honorarium to help students attend the conference.
A fantastic experience to look at my research with fresh eyes. I was reinvigorated and ready to write again!– Calvin M.

Q: How long should my presentation be?
Paper presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes to allow for feedback and Q&A. Students who are workshopping paper ideas in lieu of completed papers will speak for 5 minutes.
Q: Will I need visuals or a PowerPoint?
Not at all. All you’ll need is a webcam and microphone to present.
Q: What kind of papers can I present?
Any work in progress, from a first draft to a revise and resubmit. Whatever is most beneficial to you.
Q: Should I attend all of the presentations?
Yes. This helps everyone get the best feedback on their work. We’ve kept the schedule short to make full attendance easy. We offer honoraria to those who attend the entire program.
Q: What kind of feedback can I expect from faculty?
The conference is designed to help you develop both your paper and your presentation skills, so you’ll get feedback from faculty on both. Graduate student peers will be focusing exclusively on the content of your paper.
