Emily Birchmier is the Senior Director of Academic Programs at the Institute for Humane Studies, where she works on seminars, workshops, and colloquia for faculty and aspiring faculty. She was introduced to IHS as a graduate student by attending some of these same programs, including a summer seminar and an Advanced Topics in Liberty colloquium.
Emily recently returned to IHS after a stint in the private sector as director of operations for a renewable energy EPC where she instituted processes across the company to enable extensive scaling. In her previous role at IHS, she worked to support aspiring faculty in various ways, including running the Humane Studies Fellowship and Hayek Fund.
Emily has her BA in economics from Hillsdale College and her MA in economics from George Mason University.
