Grace Paine Terzian is Director of Marketing, Development at the Institute for Humane Studies. She has over 25 years of experience directing publications, events, development, public relations, marketing, websites, and non-profit operations.
Previously Grace was chief communications officer of MediaDC, where she was responsible for the public relations of the operating company and its three publications, The Weekly Standard, Washington Examiner, and Red Alert Politics. She was also vice president for communications of Hudson Institute, executive director of the Allergy & Asthma Network, and senior vice president of the Independent Women’s Forum. She has served as publisher of the Women’s Quarterly, research editor for Architectural Digest, and art director/production manager of The New Republic.
Earning a BA degree in the History of Art from Williams College, Grace has a lifelong passion for the arts and sciences. She lives in Fairfax County with her husband Philip, where she loves tending numerous bird feeders and watching birds ranging from hummingbirds to pileated woodpeckers. Her two grown children have flown the nest, her son to a surgical residency in Pennsylvania and her daughter to the performing arts in New York.
