IHS Summer Seminar: Civil Society in Uncivil Times

Civil Society in Uncivil Times: How Does Civil Society Impact Individual Freedom?

Davidson College | Davidson, NC

This year’s IHS Summer Seminar at Davidson College in North Carolina will focus on the challenges and advantages of civil society in fostering individual freedom and human flourishing. The seminar will bring together aspiring academics and esteemed faculty for rigorous academic discussion that explores the necessary attributes of a thriving civil society and delves into how civil society provides a firm foundation for a just and prosperous world.

Through interdisciplinary panels, lectures, and discussions during the day and conversations with newfound friends and peers during evening socials, a cohort of graduate students and advanced undergraduates will be able to learn about new ideas and have their opinions challenged by other participants and faculty leaders.
