The Effect of Regulating Healthcare Workers on Patients and Practitioners

Applications for this event close on April 15, 2022.

Co-hosted with the Arkansas Center for Research in Economics, this 3 day workshop will feature moderated round-table discussions to offer individualized feedback and advice on accepted papers. It will bring together leading senior faculty with junior faculty to collaborate and work together on improving projects and to learn about the nuances between health economics and health policy publishing.

Papers should discuss a topic of importance within healthcare regulation, with a strong preference for papers that contribute to the discussion of scope of practice and medical licensure.

Submitted applications should include a rough draft of an in-progress work with initial preliminary results. While the paper does not have to be in the final stage, the draft should clearly show that the author has a working knowledge of the underlying research question, literature, data sources, and study feasibility. Authors will be notified of acceptance by April 22, 2022

This program was conceptualized and created with Dr. Alicia Plemmons of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Dr. David “Mitch” Mitchell of the University of Central Arkansas. Please reach out to events@theihs.org with any questions.
