Immigration and Freedom Summer Session

Overview

The Institute for Humane Studies is pleased to announce this online research discussion with Dr. Michael Clemens. During this casual networking forum, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with other researchers working on similar issues and further hone their research ideas.

This discussion will feature a presentation from Dr. Michael Clemens about emerging topics in immigration research and his future research agenda. Professor Clemens will kick off the conversation with a broad critique of economists’ standard scientific paradigm for studying immigration. He will then argue that a fundamentally different paradigm can yield more fruitful research questions — and thus answers — for economists and other social scientists.

This event will take place on August 10, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, and will be hosted via Zoom.
