Academic Connections for Policy Organizations

The Institute for Humane Studies facilitates connections between policy organizations and scholars in the IHS network.

Peer reviews for state and federal policy studies

  • Reviews are completed by university-based, PhD-level scholars. Peer reviews are applicable for everything from short white papers to full-scale research studies. The peer review process allows for the scholars to provide valuable feedback and increases the credibility of the study itself. 33% of all papers the IHS network has reviewed have been cited in state and federal bills/legislation.
  • IHS facilitates and pays for the double-blind review.

Connection to scholars across research areas

  • IHS offers direct connections to scholars for various projects including commissioned policy research, expert testimony, research advisory committees, speaking engagements, etc.

Academic research on specific topics

  • The IHS research capability provides hyper-specific research and articles on most topics. With this service, IHS can serve as your policy team’s bibliography and literature review builder.
