“The dismantling of the unlawful Administrative State has officially begun.”
– Mark Chenoweth, President of NCLA & IHS Alumnus
In July 2024, in a case brought by the New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA), the Supreme Court overturned a 40-year-old legal precedent known as “Chevron deference,” which protected federal regulations from legal challenges. This landmark decision represents a dramatic shift in regulatory policy, and is a huge win for limiting federal overreach.
This victory was made possible by great thinkers like IHS alumni Mark Chenoweth, Will Yeatman, Jonathan Adler, and many others who came forward to advance the principles and practices of freedom. You likely heard about the Supreme Court’s decision, but we’d like to share what goes on behind the scenes to lay the groundwork for these historic accomplishments.
Watch this conversation with some of today’s leading minds dedicated to reigning in the administrative state. They explored the importance of ideas like balance of power and economic liberalism, and how academics build the intellectual foundation to make momentous victories like this one possible.
The conversation was followed by Q&A.
