Are you interested in using academic research to give legislative testimony?

Join IHS on December 4 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Eastern Time as we prepare for next year’s legislative session by sharing best practices and helpful information regarding testifying as an academic. Panelists will include Alicia Plemmons and Joana da Silva-Gonzalez of the Knee Regulatory Research Center at West Virginia University and Meagan Forbes of the Institute for Justice.

The conversation will explore aspects of providing testimony like framing academic research to appeal to legislators, understanding the legislative process, preparing to actually give testimony, and more. The discussion will be followed by Q&A.

Are you curious how public choice can clarify current debates around law and emerging technology like AI? Join IHS on December 6 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Eastern Time as we explore public choice theory and its relevance to innovation, technology and legal scholarship. 

Speakers will include Jeremy Kidd of Drake University Law School and Justin (Gus) Hurwitz of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and International Center for Law & Economics.

The armchair conversation will explore topics such as bureaucratic incentives, regulatory capture, and the role of interest groups, and will be followed by Q&A. At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will better understand core public choice concepts and how they relate to conversation and scholarship at the intersection of economics, law, and technology.
