Overview
The Institute for Humane Studies is convening an interdisciplinary group of scholars to explore the impact of media on polarization and democracy. This includes traditional media, social media, and media institutions.
Share your expertise and tackle pressing questions with scholars attending the American Political Science Association (APSA) annual meeting in Los Angeles, California.
The symposium takes place at the USC Hotel in the downtown area on August 30 — the day before the APSA meeting starts — beginning with opening remarks at 3:00 PM and concluding after a networking reception at 7:00 PM.
Please come prepared to share your ideas for future academic research or public-facing work, such as op-eds, on media and its impact on polarization and democracy. For your full participation, IHS will provide a $300 stipend to offset one night of hotel accommodations.
