Overview
The use of military technology and tactics has become a defining feature of border enforcement along the US-Mexico boundary in recent decades. However, this approach has not proven to deter migrants, and instead can create more dangers for migrants trying to cross the border as well as have unintended consequences for communities along the border.
Connect with a multidisciplinary group of scholars to discuss how increased border militarization impacts immigrants and others.
This discussion will commence with opening remarks from Diana Mutz, professor of political science and communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Following the opening remarks, participants will be able to ask questions, discuss their thoughts surrounding the topic, and share ideas for future research.
This event takes place on November 29, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, and will be hosted via Zoom.
