Crucial Conversation: Democracy and Solidarity

Featuring James Davison Hunter

June 17, 2024

12:00–12:45 PM ET

Zoom

Liberal democracies like the United States foster peace, freedom, and widespread prosperity for its people. Unfortunately, there is no denying the growing rift and deepening political divide our society is experiencing.

Rising illiberal ideologies pose a threat to our most cherished democratic institutions and individual freedoms, and hinder the promise of pluralism and widespread human flourishing.

Watch this important discussion on democracy and solidarity with James Davison Hunter of the University of Virginia.

James discusses his latest book, Democracy and Solidarity: On the Cultural Roots of America’s Political Crisis, and explore methods for working together to solve the challenges that divide us.

The conversation was followed by Q&A.
