Lauren Hall, PhD, is a political theorist and the author of two academic books—Family and the Politics of Moderation (Baylor University Press) and The Medicalization of Birth and Death (Johns Hopkins University Press)—along with two dozen peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on liberal democratic institutions and political philosophy. She writes the Substack The Radical Moderate’s Guide to Life and co-hosts the podcast We Made This Political with Lura Forcum. She is associate dean of academic affairs in the College of Liberal Arts at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she also directs the Institute for Interdisciplinary Innovation, and is a distinguished fellow at the Institute for Humane Studies. Previously she served as a Pluralism and Civil Exchange Fellow with the Mercatus Center.
