Danielle Zanzalari, PhD, is an assistant professor of economics at Seton Hall University. Dr. Zanzalari joined Seton Hall from the University of North Texas–Dallas where she was also an assistant professor of economics. Previously, she worked as the Vice President of Credit and Portfolio Risk at Citigroup and as a financial economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. She helped design the econometric evaluation guidelines for bank stress testing while at the Fed and also helped oversee model development for Citigroup.

Her research focuses on the impact of regulations in the banking sector, cryptocurrency markets, and public finance. She also conducts applied policy work on New Jersey’s economy, including Medicaid reform, energy policy, NJ Transit performance, and the Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF).

In addition to her academic research, Dr. Zanzalari is a frequent public commentator and writer. She has authored dozens of op-eds in outlets such as USA Today, The Hill, NorthJersey.com, and the Wall Street Journal, and is featured in national media including NPR’s Marketplace and Morningstar. She also develops personal financial literacy resources for teachers across the country, helping bring economic and finance concepts into the classroom.
