Jesse M. Crosson is an associate professor of political science and co-director of the Program on American Institutional Renewal (PAIR) at Purdue University. His research explores the institutional foundations of American public policymaking, specifically examining how party competition, legislative structures, interest group behavior, and electoral dynamics influence when—and why—policy changes or remains stagnant. Crosson’s work elucidates the challenges posed by hyperpartisanship and the evolving role of group-party relations in the contemporary political landscape and has been published in the American Political Science Review, Political Science Research & Methods, Quarterly Journal of Political Science, and Legislative Studies Quarterly, among other outlets. As co-director of PAIR, Dr. Crosson works to foster collaboration among scholars, students, and practitioners to strengthen understanding of how America’s governing institutions function and can be improved.
