Professor Kelly M. Greenhill (PhD, MIT) is a political scientist, who holds concurrent appointments at Tufts University and at MIT. Greenhill is currently also an AI and Society Fellow at the Center for AI Safety and a senior fellow at the Niskanen Center. Greenhill's principal research interests span four overlapping areas of inquiry, with a growing focus on how AI is influencing each of these areas; the politics of information and hostile influence operations; migration, refugees, and security; coercion and conflict; and asymmetric influence. Outside of academia, Greenhill has served as a consultant to the US government, UN, UNHCR, World Bank, NATO, and the Ford Foundation; as a defense program analyst for the US Department of Defense; and as an economic policy intern for then Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts.
