Paul Dragoș Aligică

Paul Dragoș Aligică is a senior research fellow in the F. A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center, George Mason University, and a professor of governance at the University of Bucharest. In 2023, he was elected a member of the Academia Europaea (Academy of Europe), where he is affiliated with the governance and social theory sections. He is the author of numerous books and academic articles on institutional theory, political economy, social theory, and political philosophy. His most recent book is Institutional Diversity and the Economic Calculation Debate: The Feasibility Issue Revisited (Cambridge University Press, 2025), and his current project is "Resilience: A Political Economy Perspective" (forthcoming with Oxford University Press).
