Robert Gmeiner is an assistant professor of economics at the University of South Dakota. His research is at the intersection of macroeconomics, public choice, and public finance, with recent topics including monetary expansion, inflation, sovereign debt, institutional effects of international trade, and the history and origins of the market system. His work as been published in Kyklos, The Independent Review, Public Finance Review, the Journal of Business Cycle Research, Constitutional Political Economy, and Economic Affairs. He has previously taught at Methodist University and Kennesaw State University, and he holds a PhD and an MS in economics from Florida State University and an BA in economics and Russian from Wake Forest University. Dr. Gmeiner lives in Vermillion, South Dakota, with his family.
